A recording. A useful clip.
Your creative call.
We're preparing a free, invite-only 60–90-day pilot, beginning with five Mac creators who edit their own speech-led podcasts or interviews. Signed access is pending. This guide explains the intended first session; it does not offer a download or guarantee a place or date.
Bring a recording you can edit
You will need macOS 15 or later, a local video you own or have permission to edit, and room for the source file and MP4 exports. Keep a backup of the original. On-device speech support varies by OS, installed models, and language; the pilot will confirm your setup before access. English speech has been exercised in our Mac testing. Other languages and older supported systems need further validation.
Make your first clip
- Import locally. Choose your video and wait for analysis. If on-device speech is unavailable, the app can offer manual editing; that is a fallback, not a completed automatic clipping run.
- Choose a moment. Preview the ranked candidates. Keep or reject them. Use New clip if the app missed a moment you want. Rankings do not predict views.
- Shape the cut. Adjust source in/out times. Use Edited preview to review the portrait composition. Save edit commits the changes; valid edits also keep a separate recovery draft.
- Correct subtitles. Edit cue text and timing. Expand measured words to fix individual words or boundaries. Rewriting a whole phrase removes that cue's word highlighting until aligned subtitles are regenerated.
- Check the framing. On-device Vision can follow a clear subject. It may hold the crop in multi-person scenes and does not identify the active speaker. Review every scene and use the manual crop when needed.
- Apply your style. Choose caption appearance, adjust size and bottom inset, add optional brand text, and save a preset for later clips.
- Export and watch. Export MP4, or queue saved edits and run the queue. Queued edits are snapshots. Watch the actual file with audio before posting; verify text, crop, ending and playback.
- Come back. Quit and reopen the app, check the project, then try another recording when you have one. Keep originals accessible; Relink original video can reconnect a matching file.
What feedback helps?
Tell us whether you exported a clip you would actually post, whether you needed help, and the single biggest obstacle. For an optional observed session, we can record hands-on editing time and coarse correction or rejection reasons with your research permission. An export alone is not evidence that a clip is useful.
For support after an invitation, reply to the invitation email. Please include build/version, macOS version, the step that failed, and a short description. Do not attach source footage, transcripts, passwords, or raw diagnostic files by default. We will agree on any additional information needed.
Your choices stay separate
The local editing path has no account requirement. Source video, transcripts, captions, drafts, presets, and preferences stay on your device in the current alpha. Community Learning is optional. When off, it sends no learning events. Current opt-in improvement reports are files you explicitly export; the app does not automatically upload them.
Research observation, screen recording, sharing footage, and use of your name or a quote require separate permission. Declining research does not remove pilot access. Reset local learning clears learning and research events and turns consent off; it retains projects and exports. It is not a complete removal of app data.
The website interest list stores contact and workflow details on Cloudflare. Its permission covers pilot contact only. Read the interest-list data notice or withdraw an entry.
What is available, and what is pending?
Implemented locally: suggestions, manual clips, timed subtitles and measured-word highlighting, edited preview, subject framing with manual override, brand presets, edit recovery, queued exports, and private platform drafts. Mac long-recording tests and unsigned builds pass. The latest Mac word editor and queue controls have also been checked interactively.
Pending: Vidensia signing and notarization, installation on a second Mac, actual creator outcomes, and physical iPhone testing. Direct social posting, audience analytics, paid plans, and live Cloud Boost are not part of this pilot offer. Creators can post exported files manually using their existing workflow.
The pilot has no charge. Future pricing is undecided; there is no checkout or paid subscription available here.
